“I want to do nails” … I statement that is often heard. Yes, we love the nail industry and see the immense value in it. However, there are many other modules in the beauty industry that are overlooked, we believe due to insufficient information shared. Well you are about to be informed…
Is it a dream of yours to work on a cruise liner? Or even in a 5-star Spa or become an Eyebrow specialist? Do you aspire to be different or unique in the industry and with your offerings? Being unique requires research and an open mind to the other opportunities this ever-developing and growing industry has to offer.
Underrated Module – Threading
The first word that may pop into your mind after hearing the word threading is probably “painful”. Painful it may be, but beauty is pain, however don’t we all love beautiful eyebrows and a hairless face? This ancient method of hair removal has now popularized itself in the western world as one of the top hair removal methods of our time. It is a technique that uses specialized cotton to remove the hair from the root. You have never seen a more precise eyebrow until you have seen a threaded eyebrow. Why it is underrated is that threading requires the least overheads, is a quick treatment, however a decent fee may be charged which equals more commission and therefore a higher salaries.
Underrated Module – Eyelash & Eyebrow Tinting
Eyelash & Eyebrow Tinting completes a look, it draws attention to the eyes which is an important focal point of the face. This treatment is performed by enhancing eyebrows and eyelashes with the addition of colour. It is often an additional treatment, rarely done on its own. This is because it enhances the eyelashes for the perfect Lash Extension set or it defines the shape of an eyebrow prior to threading. It creates a fuller look for eyebrows and eyelashes and it completes an Eyebrow Specialists’ job.
Underrated Module – Body Wraps and Scrubs
Body wraps and Body Scrubs have always been a spa treatment which makes a client feel luxurious. It embodies the complete spa experience. Granular exfoliators containing sometimes sugar or salt is applied to the body and rubbed vigorously on the body to remove dead skin cells and expose soft, healthier looking skin. A body wrap is then applied which can have a thermal, detoxifying, hydrating or nourishing effect on the body. This module is a great accompaniment to massage modules as it assists a massage therapist with creating and maintaining equilibrium within the body and adds value to the client’s experience. If it is your dream to work at a Spa, this module will only assist you in the right direction.
