We were always told that true radiance comes from within, right? While external factors do play a role, such as your home care products and salon skincare routine, it is equally essential to nourish our bodies and minds. Looking into the needs to maintain your radiant and glowing skin, together with a confident appearance, one needs to explore a holistic approach to beauty, treating and caring for all aspects of your life.
Skincare Ritual:
This is the most important to me. If one develops a consistent skincare routine tailored to your skin, you will maintain a healthy and glowing complexion.
Always use a gentle cleanser to remove impurities. I can’t be without a toner, to balance my skin’s pH level and to make it feel fresh and lively.
Next, I apply a serum, rich in anti-oxidants or even AHA’s. I rotate between serums.
Then I always apply a really good moisturizer with a low level SPF, to hydrate and protect my skin.
I do a gentle exfoliation at least 2x per week and mask equally often. This removes those dull skin cells and promotes skin radiance.
I can’t go without an eye cream which I use morning and night. And at night I add a night cream to the face and neck also, over the serum once again.

Sleep and Stress Management:
Being a businesswoman, I can’t do without meaningful and adequate sleep. It is true that women need more sleep than men, so bring it on! Sleep for me is vital for rejuvenating my skin and promoting my general well-being. I aim for between 7- 8 hours of quality sleep each night. If I don’t get it, the following night, I am exhausted.
We should also establish a relaxing bedtime routine that should include disconnecting from electronic devices and engaging in activities that calm the mind. This is where I fall short. I find TV to be my stress reliever which I know is incorrect.
Managing stress is equally important by engaging in activities we enjoy. In my case this is exercise and being outdoors walking in nature. I prefer to give a massage than have a massage, but massage with aromatic oils is simply the best on the surface and internally.
Exercise and Physical Activity:
Exercising 3 – 4 times a week has become a need, not a want for me. I love to do outdoor walks weekly; a walk with a bestie = physiological and psychological benefits in general debriefing; gym sessions a couple of times a week and a feel better all round. When I come back from a workout, whichever it is, I feel as if my heart is pumping, my blood flows easier and my skin feels more nourished. If you enjoy what you are doing, it makes you feel so much better inside and out.
Nourish Your Body:
We all need to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. A healthy diet rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and essential fatty acids is crucial.
Incorporate plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats into your meals.
Hydration is key too, so remember to drink an adequate amount of water daily to keep your skin hydrated and supple. This is a huge downfall for me. I drink other liquids to compensate. Not good, I know.
Inner Confidence and Self-Care:
Beauty radiates from within, and cultivating inner confidence plays a pivotal role in your overall appearance. If I am feeling down and lacking in confidence, it shows in my skin, stance, body energy and general voice projection. I try to engage in things that make me feel good about myself at the end of each day. Working so hard all day, sometimes stuck behind a laptop screen for 8 – 10 hours, I need to stretch, move and shake it all out. Reading in one way or another, watching series, pursuing hobbies, spending time with loved ones all help towards embracing good inner health.
My Beauty secrets are not about quick fixes or magic potions. In fact, I have always laughed at the strange routines I have followed. But I am now grateful for caring for my skin, body and inner wellness. Achieving a confident appearance is super essential in your inner feeling of togetherness and unlocking the beauty that lies within. Aging brings its usual issues. Stay strong people. It helps in the long run.
