Make Up trends constantly change, and even though we get our inspiration from the catwalk, Make Up artists, magazines and product brands, everyone has different styles and interests. Nevertheless, 2019 has a little something for everyone.
It appears that the 90’s seem to be sneaking back with the bold, bright lips and eyes…can I hear the word ‘STATEMENT’.
Trends come and go so if you feeling courageous, why not try it.
Your lips are an accessory to your face, so the bold look is a definite ‘must try’ and with Rihanna’s new lip gloss range, we know we can’t back away from a celeb ‘must-have’.
“I apply this all day long. It’s truly addictive. It’s comfortable, it’s nourishing, and you just want to wear it all day.” – Rihanna
Lip gloss in 2019 is less sticky, longer-lasting and hydrating. Some ingredients used are plum oil…keeping your lips moisturised and note that it’s high in Vitamin A.
But maybe ‘glossy’ is not the word you are seeing on social media, but rather ‘glassy’.
Glassy skin is in! Ladies are wanting the clear, light and luminous “I just came from the beach look”.
Glowing bronze skin is more natural and radiant. No more heavy colours, time consuming Make Up looks, contouring your whole face. Now it’s the quicker and gorgeous gentle finish. But don’t worry if you are still into the contouring look, don’t let it intimidate you, it’s all about creating a balance.
So, we covered the 2 G’s – Glossy and Glassy. So what is the 3rd… obviously GLITTER.
Glitter, welcome back my old friend. It’s time to shimmer those eyelids with the new and lighter textured glitter.
Have fun with your Make Up looks and be creative. Make Up doesn’t need to be restricted but if the sparkle is not for you and you still want some colourful eyes, try some navy mascara or the colourful liners.
Navy mascara wasn’t as popular as it is right now. With this cooler tone, it allows your eyes to stand out, but some are still sceptical and want the traditional black mascara which is fine too, because there are other options to use around the eyes like colour liners…bold, bold, bold…no worries this technique is effortless…remember we are going for the ‘less is more’ look in 2019.
But then again when it comes to eyebrows we want ‘more not less’ look. The perfect shape, arch, length and volume. So, if you did have the thin eyebrow look, it’s time to pack those tweezers away and grab the castor oil, because we need to make them grow. Castor oil helps nourish the follicle and triggers hair to grow, so you definitely have a solution with this one.
3 G’s, check! But don’t forget the Monochromatic Make Up… explain please? ‘Mono what’?
Monochromatic Make Up is mimicking your eyes, lips and cheeks with the same but different colours. Coral is popular to this look and it’s perfect for any skin colour.
So, you probably thinking ‘bold’, ‘glitter’, ‘bright’, ‘monochromatic’, ‘glossy’, ‘glassy’… so many looks and ideas. So many options, I KNOW! But if you are feeling daring, don’t hesitate to try these new trends. If you are feeling neutral, remember neutral is always in. If you are feeling French, the natural look with red popping lips is still a hit, and if you are feeling like you need some help with all of the above, why not study a Make Up course at Beauty Therapy Institute?
